Aretha - Acrylic Painting Class

Welcome to my Acrylic Painting Class, Aretha!

Here is the list of supplies I used for this project. You don't need to purchase the same exact paints, brushes or even the same colors. Work with what you have at home or whatever you can afford and you will be able to create your own beautiful portrait.

Supply List

  • Canvas or mixed media paper (avoid thin papers that won't support water-based media)

  • Gesso

  • Grafite or soft pencil for sketching (6B +)

  • Acrylic paint

    • Burnt umber light

    • Cadmium Red

    • Vermilion or Cadmium Orange

    • Naples Yellow

    • Quinacridone Magenta

    • Titanium White

    • Prussian Blue

  • Paper Towel

  • Baby Wipes

  • Brushes

    • One-inch flat brush

    • Half-inch flat brush

    • Small flat or round brush for details

    • Large brush for background (a cheap, wall painting brush will do)

  • Palette Knife
