Hi there,

I'm Pat Rios. A mom, wife, animal lover and late-blooming artist.

I was born and raised in Brazil but as an adult, I was lucky enough to live in a few different places around the US and Europe with my husband, our two sons and multiple pets. We have now settled down in a beautiful town in the suburbs of Connecticut.

Art was a big part of my life during my childhood and teenage years, but I abandoned it completely to pursue a more “serious” career.

In my late forties, art found me again, and this time we are sticking together no matter what. Most days you can find me in my messy home studio, wearing yoga pants and a hoodie (both covered in paint stains), holding a cup of coffee with my left hand and a paintbrush with my right hand.

I paint expressive portraits of people and animals in acrylics using loads of texture and bright, bold colors. That is what moves me. My paintings won't always match your decor, but I hope they evoke the beautiful and powerful emotions that run through me as I am creating them.

Finally, I also love to teach what I know to people who want to learn how I paint. I share everything in my classes and am always happy to answer questions, and give constructive feedback to my students.
